The Sahab 7even
Cultural Critique - An introduction to a rating system
Hi everyone!
My name is Ibrahim, a Sahab Collective intern.
Louis, the Director and Programme Leader, has given me a series of questions for me to answer for each piece I read. To help assess the quality of each piece, I have come up with my own rating system of ‘Sahabs’ (Arabic for clouds) in place of stars. Here’s what each one means:
1 Sahab: Hateful - I would actively tell people to avoid this piece
2 Sahabs: Forgettable - others might like it more than me
3 Sahabs: Decent - I won’t get that time back, but I don’t regret it
4 Sahabs: Good - I could see myself going over this again someday
5 Sahabs: Very readable - I would actively tell people to look into this!
6 Sahabs: Excellent - I will gift this again and again
7 Sahabs: Masterpiece - I will give the author/creators my kidney
The views expressed here are my own and may not please everyone. If you have any further thoughts or suggestions, please feel free to share.
Look out for what’s to come!
